Kerry's party is the party of Patty Murray who had the courage and wisdom to vote against the Iraq war resolution. She opposed giving Bush a "blank check". History proved her correct.

In the end missing Republican voters caused the midterm elections to go democrats' way. IMHO the failure of the President to support the Life Right Amendment he had campaigned on coupled with Republican profligacy cost them the support of the base.
