I stand corrected, McCain is not just an old warmonger! :-)

The New York Times has posted an article, being hotly reported on MSNBC, that might have Republican presidential candidate John McCain in hot water:

Early in Senator John McCain's first run for the White House eight years ago, waves of anxiety swept through his small circle of advisers.

A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, in his offices and aboard a client's corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself - instructing staff members to block the woman's access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.

PS : The McCain campaign issues a limp statement that feels like a non-denial denial, including chestnuts such as "The American people are sick and tired of this kind of gutter politics."

For those who don't speak Republican, that means "I AM GUILTY AS HAIL!!!"

Gee, when I saw McCain on stage yesterday with a plastic mannequin that looked like a woman, I wondered how he could get along with a creature like that!

No problemo! McNuts has been active elsewhere! ;-) ;-)

McNuts : "It is a shame that the New York Times has lowered its standards to engage in a hit and run smear campaign..."

Apparently, just a month ago, the NY Times had very high standards when they endorsed... McNuts! LOL
