Zimbabwe is sure an extreme case of rumminess. We might have
a black Pres., that's a start. -g- We are not a rummy country,
just acting like one. Patriot Act, economic reports jokes,
no free markets. -g-

OT-length: i don't have guns and ammo nor do i stock piles of supplies(all one needs if not a hunter is a gun for something like putting down a rabid raccoon and such.)

My background is urban so , so hunting was never a part of my culture, but i have many hunter friends, and they eat or give away to be eaten what they kill.

They know all about guns and how to respect them starting at about 7 years old.

Up here, even to point an empty gun at someonein jest is to be ostracized.
One thing all people need confront is you are going to die, guaranteed so to let the fear of death turn one into a killer, well, that is sad.

i do know those that have stocked cabins(People from the the crowded zoneslike Bangor/Brewer/Bucksport:), and a couple hunting guns in what we call the numbered zones(wilderness areas), as Maine has huge amounts of land to just go into and vanish, as their are logging roads all over. And if they have the money, solar power for electricity, and a dish even:)

They are younger people, they aren't survivalist militia types, they just want to get away and watch the chaos(if it happens) from a distance, to live like a Swiss Family Robinson, and none be is paranoid, they out to get me, types, but curiously two are stock brokers, they just KNOW too much, they have connected the dots.

i would say in this area i live of lobstermen, scallopers, fishermen, loggers, carpenters, masons, doctors, lawyers ,and so on(and rich rich summer people), i only know of one survivalist militia type, ready and armed to kill the hoards.
And if all hell breaks loose below us, he is the only one that the locals up here might kill, he is a dangerous nut case.

Do we sit around at times and BS about a possible time that places like Boston, Bangor New York City, in hunger and desperation start moving on up.
Yeh, they talk, they aren't dumb, not even close to dumb, they can sensetheptential for chaos, so they have BS, what if ,sessions, and they can get to LOL! level, we understand FUNNY up here and they know also how few roads get to our peninsula, and how easy it would be block them totally.

Would they let people in they didn't know? No.

It is not a hate thing or a paranoid thing, hell they might even set up trade centers to sell food to people that need it--even , some, i know would give it away(i would).

You have to grasp that where i live we have no police.

The closest police car is i5 miles away, in Blue Hill, and that is The Sheriff, LOL!(and he has one deputy)

i having learned this area, learned it well, i have discovered why all trust each other, and all is friendly, it does have a subtle form of ostracism--but that gets complicated.

You want to see anarchy work, well it has worked up here for a couple hundred years:)

Old post to Box-River:)

You have given a reason for why i live along the shores of the this geographic place. Mind you i was born and raised in Philly(born actually about 4 blocks from Independence Hall) and i also lived 6 years in NYC( where i learned the fine art form of driving with one hand and finger flipping with the other, and shouting "And up yours too, Buddy!"--all simultaneously :). Talk about getting away from it all:)

And a bit of my philosophy from my now dead thread where i left a lot of info(including introductory sources to TheNewCosmology--for those that seek mystery, rather than fear it:)

p.s.one idiot yesterday called me an away from all useless thinker.
i am near 67, a battle scarred radical from another generation and of from the urban zones, but i live in a country now that has no history for so many young today, they are so clueless they see someone in their 60s andthat iswhat heis--hehasno history, why? Because they have so little knowledge, they can't even grasp history. Nowif that doesn't worry people, i don't know what will.Again, Just Max
