Jim's been bugging me about me taking advantage of my homeowner's tax exemption at sale for years now. I keep telling him it's there for him and any American that owns a home for two years and wants to take advantage, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

Well Jim has a problem here in Florida. We have what's called a save our homes tax thing that limits how much your property taxes can go up each year. I've lived in the same house for 15 years and he just bought a house so his taxes are double mine. Which pisses him off of course.

Now the kicker... they just made it portable. So I can sell my house, buy a different house in FL, and carry with me the reduced rate. If he bought the same house his rate would be double mine!

And ya see Jim is a FL native... so it sort of REALLY pisses him off that I'm an elite taxpayer for life, while he subsidizes all the government services I enjoy... police and fire protection, schools, street cleaning, etc, etc.

It's neat being an elite taxpayer... now i know how those folks with passive income, that don't work for their $'s, feel about only paying 15%.

It's GREAT!!!
