The point was that universal health care is a good thing

I agree with that. You don't need to sell me on the value of universal health care. Just don't think that either single-payer or imposition of insurance on the individual is a necessary or desirable feature.

Let me restate this more accurately for you:

Put into perspective it much easier to deal with. I find that dealing with concrete people who espouse highly partisan opinions as if they are accepted fact can be quite difficult.

There is ample evidence that Socialized Medicine is a failure and I find being the last one on a boat that is recognisably sinking to be a foolish exercise.
