That may be due to how the NY Slimes wrote the story - to allow for plausible deniability for the intentional innuendo woven throughout the whole piece.

As far as how it was interpreted, it was nearly universal anywhere I went. FoxNews, CNN, some entertainment show on CBS & my local classic rock station, ET AL.

And when my local classic rock show spends a couple of minutes late in the evening discussing a "sex scandal" in the NY Slimes you know it's everywhere. They rarely, if ever discuss any news, let alone political smut at night.
