I don't believe new species "showed up" because of evolution from other species.

Man didn't evolve from apes, amoebas, or fish.

Fortunately, evolution does not require your belief to be true or proven via DNA or genetic mapping.

Creationism requires too many - and a miracle happens here for me to "believe".

It doesn't really answer my question. I wasn't asking if you believe in evolution.

The point is that if you start with the assumption that God create the universe that doesn't preclude evolution, or at least that's my opinion, so I asked if it was yours.

Not believing in evolution doesn't mean you think evolution is logically excluded by the premise that God created the universe. Both the "evolution" and "no evolution" conclusions are consistent with the assumption that God created the universe. If you accept one, you would presumably assert the other to be false, but "false" isn't the same thing as "logically excluded by the starting assumption".

"I don't believe new species "showed up" because of evolution from other species."

Do you know what the definition of "species" is?

It means the two groups don't interbreed. And the reason why they don't could be they aren't inter fertile, they don't have the same mating calls, etc. or there is some physical obstruction. Like, for example, there is one species of ground squirrel on one side of the Grand Canyon, and another on the other side.

The reason why this is important is that when you keep two or more groups separate, there is genetic drift.
