SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 3, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- TASER International, Inc. (NasdaqGS:TASR - News), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices released the following NEWS ALERT:
According to a report by the Canwest News Service which appeared in the February 29, 2008 edition of the Vancouver Province, an unidentified man armed with a knife attacked a front desk employee at a detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Officers responded to the attack by using a TASER(r) electronic control device to subdue the man.

Police indicated that the man disobeyed orders to drop the knife and was yelling at police to shoot him.

It was reported that Constable Chantal Farrah said, ``This is a good example where appropriate utilization of (a TASER ECD) resulted in bringing a dangerous situation under control.''
