Something from nothing is not evolution - starting from higher forms and going back is fairly obvious - to the absolute beginning is a bit tough.

I just bought Darwin's Origin of the Species last week, have never read it myself - just listened to others argue about it's contents and meaning - but then I've done the same with the bible - always puts me to sleep.

I'll get back to you when I finish them both.

Right now I'm reading Thomas Paine's common sense - the introduction was longer than his "book". Online version sans intro ushistory.org

Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices.

Also picked up the lewis and clark journals, should be interesting - I've heard they complain about the rain and the grizzlies when they get to my backyard.
