He's stated his position on the two most important issues unequivocally. He will continue the war in Iraq and will continue with the Bush tax cuts.

This election and the future of the country turn on these two things.


Yes, those are his positions. Whether those two things will be the big issues, time will tell. Campaigns can be overtaken by events.

It's up to McCain to make his case for both positions. I think he has a very good shot. Democrats have seriously misread the data on the Iraq war, imo. They have wishfully confused dissent against the war with dissent against losing the war.

The left-wing Dems hold the first position, the American center holds the second. That's why support for the war has been inching back up as good news trickles in from Iraq, slowly and quietly because the MSM doesn't want to tell the story.

John McCain needs to convince the public that we are winning in Iraq and must not throw away real gains in a high stakes battle by cutting and running and never minding the consequences, as Obama wants to do. I know that's what McCain believes. I believe it too.
