Sam, I think your ideas are hundreds of years away. I think you have no concept of what you are talking about with large scale application of solar and wind.

I dont think you can comprehend the scale of power needs going forward. Sure it great to dream of these things but the reality is already here. We need thousands of new MW's every year. Existing wind and solar development wont even meet incremental load growth.

Do you know how electricity is "stored" today? In pumped storage which hugely inefficient but useful. Using electric pumps to move water up a mountain in order to allow this to run through hydro turbines the next day.

So you can see coal plants running at night to allow hydro power during the day.

So what are you thinking about 10's of thousands of square miles of solar panels and wind farms and then massive battery banks?
