John McCain has higher than normal standards, Bob Bennett, Bill's brother, was lucky enoough to have his memoir come out just now. He was on H&C for a book appearance the day the story broke. Bob was the lead DOJ Lawyer for the "Keating Five" investigation. He said, in his book and on the show, that he felt McCain was not involved and should be dropped from the investigation. He is a Dem, and has no political axe to grind. McCain had hired him back in December when the NYT approached him about the story to deal with the Times. So Bob had the story cold.
