USD is a reserve currency. Countries suffered before by not having enough reserves of currency foreign currency.

1) Need to boost reserves to have iron clad defense.

2) They are doing this not out of compassion for the USD but sheer self-interest.

3) Once they get enough they move to the next step: Stop buying USD create sovereign funds.

Now those countries have the safe guard. No need to keep defending their back.

4) Go out and start buying assets.
