Good post Michael, I agree 100%. I think the ones that cause the degeneration in the debate are less than 5% on each side... but somehow they manage to grab the stage. It's as much the fault of the press as anyone; they will publish or broadcast any tripe to attract eyeballs and sell advertising.

After the Primaries, I truly pray that we will have meaningful debates that will reveal the candidates positions on all of these major issues.
