Hi Michael, I appreciate your coming over here and voicing your opinion..I really do..both McCain and Obama have underlined and bolded their desire for a campaign based on issues..I agree with those who said that at this point we're still more concerned with winning the nomination from Hillary than dealing with McCain..he's there and close but not our rival yet..for sure, that's the case for me..he's also someone that I'd vote for if Hillary were the nominee..I was not at all happy re: the NYT story and voiced it here..the most high-traffic left blogger sites were also quite skeptical(link below)..when I first saw that cropped pic of McCain/lobbyist by a 'drive-by' poster, I thought: 'give it attention or just let him drive by?'..it's a toughie for me sometimes to figure how much attention to give unfamiliar posters..

Distorting facts is something I sincerely hope Obama supporters don't get accustomed to.

Show me an instance where the Obama campaign has distorted facts about the Clintons, even though the Clintons have so much fodder. The Obama campaign, have in mailers, just pointed to facts about Hillary, which is her support for the Iraq war and Nafta. The Obama campaign has also provided facts about Obama which is his opposition to Iraq war. So what makes you think that the Obamacans will attack McCain. My understanding is that Obama wants the votes of the people and his want is not to attack McCain.

There was a poster who lurked on this thread with the plagiarism charge when it was breaking. We posters provided him with the treatment we have become accustomed to which is "the Obama treatment". We heard him out, discussed the issue with him in a dignified way, and made him feel that "he was behaving in a silly manner. Instead of tearing each other down, we should be lifting the country up.: When he heard that and after realizing that there was no story in that, he quietly left with his tail between his legs.

Wonder what your next move is going to be!!

I do not understand how people like Rush can be called conservative when they seem hell bent on destruction of our country and its institutions .

The sleeping giant has already awakened and it is the Obama supporters, many of us who are disaffected from the failed policies of Bush, which McCain wants to continue. 3 years ago, I felt the Republican party was redeemable and found out that they were not when they insisted on 100 years in Iraq and trillions more dollars for war and for tax breaks we can't afford.

So when you threaten, it is so incredibly empty, that I just have to laugh. You must not live in the same world we live in, if you think there is a sleeping majority out there waiting to topple Obama. People are fed up on all sides of the aisle and electing another Bush Jr look alike is not what the vast majority of people have in mind to change that.
