I like VQ at $13. Their 2008 production guidance of 5-10% growth hasn't impressed, but they have significant potential to add in the Sac Basin and the option exercise by DNR in S. TX in November is sexy. CAPEX in 2008 will be covered by cash flow and only 11% of it is exploration.

fxfun, Venoco (VQ) -- Thanks for bringing them up, I have dabbled with them previously but have not kept up with them. They have a lot of guts to be trying an MLP IPO in this environment. That table in the recent Citigroup report on Linn Energy just sticks in my mind -- virtually every investor in those '06-'07 PP's has lost money, some more than half their investment. Granted a public offering is another story, but still, it would seem the appetite for MLP's right now is low among the institutions.

But even without the MLP gambit Venoco looks interesting and, as Delt says, undervalued. Does anyone know why this stock has come down so hard in the last few months? Its often helpful to know what has led to a stock becoming undervalued.
