Too early to say. Based on his life history i would not say opportunist. I would say patriot and citizen. He did speak to Obama before he made his announcement. He likely did not speak to Hillary because he has been very critical of her. For those who want to pigeon-hole Obama and think he is too liberal, it helps to have someone further left, as Obama moves toward the center in the General. As to the opportunist part, this will probably bring attention to Nader and help him raise funds for his PIRG and offshoots, but I take him at face value and think he is doing what he thinks is important.
