I will always remain amazed ( and Thankful) at the short sighted strategies of the major gold miners toward exploration during the bear market when Jrs were unable to raise cash and were turning themselves into exploration stocks. Laying off their geos and abandoning entire countries or geographic regions was insanity. They lost a lot of talent and a lot of prospective ground. Yes, they could have bought up struggling jrs. but they also could have locked up so much ground that the Jr exploration co's future turnaround opportunities would have been severely curtailed. Maybe we should start Avis Exploration, "we try harder". Interesting that Catherine MacLeod -Seltzer credited Threlkeld as the prime ABX architect in the takeover of Arequipa. Cheers, Ogi
