I am not sure I agree that the effects on China should have shown up by now. The Fed has been desperately trying to head off a recession by lowering interest rates. Till the recession takes hold I can't say we have seen the worst. I don't see a dramatic rise in bankruptcies yet and lineage rates for the papers are down only slightly. We have seen a slacking in consumer demand, but not a concentrated effort to cut out extras and pay down debt. The sub-prime loan issue is still only concentrated to specific markets, it is not a country wide issue. Till all those issues are resolved I don't see a bottom being called.
