The NY Times McCain article was accurate and very careful to be. I'm sure they could have printed a lot more, but they put in what they could back up with multiple sources, after three months of work by their four finest investigative reporters, guys who never ever lie or mislead. Very strict journalistic standards. The reason the rightwing hates/fears the NY Times (and all fine newspapers and news sources) is that they tell the truth, and the rightwing depends on lying, believing in lies, intimidating the press and hoodwinking their followers with lies. Just like the Nazis did. The rightwing spin room is not that difference from Goebbels propaganda work for Hitler in the 30's. Look it up. Do a comparison. It's all there. Also, the FOunding Fathers intentionally supported a strong press capable of taking down corrupt politicians and presidents. It's a vital part of any democracy. If you only have press saluting the dictator-president, we stop being a democracy because the people never know what's going on. Like the USSR too. Very similar.
