edit i wasnt referring to michael cummings as one of those folks on bills thread who got me kicked off. I second that. I watched these same folks on Lindys thread smear kerry four years ago thru swiftys. And i have the creds to say this, having voted for Bush in 04. I got the boot from that thread for calling for big tent a la reagan and not roves one vote wins (or losses) that divided this nation. I knew i was on the right track then and i will continue to point obama in that direction which means adoption of tough fp (not auto withdrawl from iraq either), and a pro growth eco policy leaving taxes to tax reform and a bipartisan commission. I would even include SS reform in such a commission because in order to have a fair, progressive (small p) and pro growth tax system you have to address the almost 7% Fica tax. At the bottom level of earners 7% is as regressive as you can get. Personally i think its time to stop the myth and fund SS out of general tax revenues or pay for benefits by taxing all income at a much lower rate.
