Storage is the key to... transportation.

All of our home and business use of energy is a no brainer. Solar, geothermal, wind, coal, water, nuclear. All of these are no brainers. Cheaper will win, but all will do fine. All are utilities although solars are trading like intellectual property right now.

The one area that is still fuzzy to me is storage on moving vehicles. You cant get away from it. Electricity can be moved around the grid.

But storage on personal vehicles has to be local to the vehicle:

Hydrogen: hard to handle
Batteries: dirty, expensive, wear out
Compressed air: ??? - hard to handle
