I'm okay with the joshing SO, and I didn't really think you hate Ethiopians. But I felt like putting in some serious stuff too. Both parties don't have to be serious, or joking and either can put any combination in their posts. I wasn't really serious that I expected you to do the decent thing and hand over your house, car etc to me.

With 6 billion of us doing better than ever, the trend is not towards self-destruction, even if we all double our usage of supermarket plastic bags.

I didn't remember what brand of superstition Ethiopians tend to favour. Coptic? I could ask Google but don't care enough. Oh what the heck, I'll take a peek and see what that is.

Google is great! Early photocopiers or photocoptics: <The contributions of the Coptic Church to Christendom are many. From the beginning, it played a central role in Christian theology---and especially to protect it from the Gnostics heresies. The Coptic Church produced thousands of texts, biblical and theological studies which are important resources for archeology. The Holy Bible was translated to the Coptic language in the second century. Hundreds of scribes used to write copies of the Bible and other liturgical and theological books. Now libraries, museums and universities throughout the world possess hundreds and thousands of Coptic manuscripts. >

Scribes, to printing press, to photocopier, to cyberspace = amazing progress. Now one person can write something and upload it, along with a video. So some bloke could go up a mountain, have a personal meeting with Go-, and have it on-line in real-time. It certainly makes it easier for G-d too get the word out. Helicoptic Ben can get freshly minted US$ out fast too to avoid deflation. The world is certainly different. To get more money, people used to have to dig gold out of mountains.

But it always puzzles me why -od doesn't just tell each person personally - because being omniopotent and all that, you'd think he'd have the bandwidth. Heck, he wouldn't even have to bid for spectrum at a government auction. How can we be sure the reporter in his excitement didn't leave out some crucial details which Go- gave him? Did he have a tape recorder? No! He probably didn't even take notes.
