Looks like about 550K after 40 years. And 5% of course is a pretty lame rate of return. Average 9% and it's just shy of 1.5 million.

If you want a demonstration of the lamest most criminal pension plan in the entire world look at the National Sheetmetal workers pension. They or I contribute 4.85 per hour worked into the national pension so those mafioso criminal SOB's can live a life of luxery while the guy I'm making the contributions for will get 2200 per month at 65. 2200 a f-ing month.

Guy starts at 20 and works 1500 hours a year which isn't much more then part time. My guys run closer to 2000 hours, but we will use 1500. I will have contributed 327,335. At your 5% rate of return they should have 1.2 million and of that they get 2200 for life.

Makes SSI look like a damn bargain.
