To me this tells a bigger story and is further bullish for natty stocks in North America.

"A number of liquefied natural gas-receiving terminal companies decided to add capacity for 2008, but now it's looking as if there is too much (capacity) to go around."
In other words, not enough LNG supply for the anticipated rush.

The premise for lower NG prices by the New York speculators hinges on increased LNG imports to the USA.

Terra Energy continues to do well. Now at $1.60 :-)
Talisman and CNRL are also climbing.

The Cheniere announcement is the most recent indicator that LNG imports to North America are in deep trouble over the next several years. Four factors account for this situation: (1) producing countries are not moving forward to develop reserves., (2) costs of liquefaction have skyrocketed and plants cancelled in many areas, (3) Europe and Asia will pay any price needed and (4) Qatar is now linking new LNG contracts to oil prices. Note that Qatar is projected to provide 26% of new LNG supply through 2015. In fact, in the US , LNG is projected to be 75% of all new NG supply. This is a serious situation because states like California are depending heavily on LNG imports and are using $ 4.75 landed costs in their models. This is incredible. We are sleepwalking into disaster. Frank
