John;

I'm not arguing who one should vote for or against, I'm arguing against your conclusion that we know what we get with Clinton and not Obama. We will have to disagree on that - because I honestly think any Clinton presidency is a complete unknown. There are issues that will affect ( or is it effect? <smile) her candidacy that will not Obama's.

I expect China and Russia and Pakistan to be far more important foreign policy issues in the next 4 to 8 years than the ME. And my guess is neither of these two candidates are extremely well prepared to deal with that

Would not disagree that these are important places to watch. But once again I stress, the wisdom of going against the crowd and being right on Iraq, is why I think Obama may be far better at making the right choices than either McCain or Hillary. Not sure if you are implying with the above statement that McCain is better prepared to handle these problem areas - but if you are, I also disagree with that conclusion. McCain is taking the "weasel road" in his Iraq policy. He supported Bush a lot lot longer than he now implies and was not an early voice against the policy.......The nature of Obama to be able to see the "big picture" and his teams arguments for a pragmatic approach suggest to me he would not be as much of an unknown as you seem to think. .....Plus by being his own man - not being linked at the hip to the military complex - Obama will be able to make decisions without the influence of those with a profit motive. My opinion of McCain has been influenced by the Vicki Iseman story. I did not know he was so tied to lobbyist and had so many lobbyist on his staff.
