There you are right back to government bureaucrats exercising their right to sentence a patient to death. He said, ‘If you pay for Avastin, you’ll have to pay for everything’ ” — in other words, for all her cancer treatment, far more than she could afford. I am sure all of the fans of Socialized Medicine are ecstatic to read of the success of the model system.

Avastin is a black border drug......it was learned a year or so ago that it can cause perforation of the gastrointestinal tract and death. It was being used only for cancer colon. FDA approval for breast cancer treatment was disapproved until 4 days ago, 2-22-08. Since your story was about a patient trying to get it in December, I think she would not have gotten it here either. Our insurance companies often refuse to pay even if it does have FDA approval.....I've had such an experience.
