Tried to get Mrs. Cricket to Northern Peru this year but instead we settled on Eastern Ecuador. Would've been relatively easy to check out BZP stuff with the spotting scopes... Next month we're spending a week in the Western Amazon (the middle of OXY's old concession). We'll keep a look out to see how the government is doing. hehehehe... This will be the most remote trip I've ever taken as it requires 3 hours on the Napo River and another 20 minutes hiking to the lodge. Not to mention the Cessna flight out of Quito. Going to be fun. Weather forecast for the Amazon Hot/humid or Hot/rain. Take your pick.
