While I share your gloomy view for the economy, at least in the short term, I try to never forget that supply and demand is what determines prices. The mountain of potential demand keeps getting bigger, not only in the trillion the wealth funds are accumulating at a rate of close to a trillion per year, but in the further trillions pilling up in money market funds (soon to yield below 2%) here in the US. $3.4 trillion at last count.
