I don't recall ever using the word 'gook' except in an existential philosophy class during the VietNam War. I argued with the professor that objectifying an enemy by giving him an inhuman label was one of the few provisions available for slaughtering another in an agressive effort without considering ourselves to be committing a soulfully evil action. I didn't criticise the VietNam Vets for using it for that reason and am grateful I was sheltered from that circumstance. I had Southeast Asian friends at the time and we had long discussions about the problem over tea, which was about as close as I ever got to the issue.

Your allegation that I have ever hated "gooks" is a lie. That is a true fact. The truth may be harsh when you see it but it need not always be mean spirited or nasty and I don't intend it that way on this occasion.
