Nice spin, asshole. GFY. It was the failure of the CRC - an NGO to abide by the standards set by the FDA. You're an ignoramus to the extreme. It wasn't the SYSTEM's fault, but failure to abide by it's rules. Are you that stupid?

Charges were eventually laid against the Red Cross, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company and several doctors. The charges laid on Nov. 20, 2002, followed a five-year investigation by the RCMP. They alleged that the accused failed to properly screen blood donors, failed to test blood properly, and failed to warn the public that there were risks associated with blood products.

>Did you know the FDA bans blood donation by men who have had sex with men since 1977? Aren't you ashamed of that? Don't you want that discrimination stopped immediately?

This is the US FDA that has that ban in place and is based on bigotry. What's the purpose of this ban? To eliminate screening for Hep. C and HIV? If so, that's highly irresponsible, because gay men are not the only carriers of that? Is it a fact that the ARC pays still for blood donations? That really attracts the highest quality of donors, doesn't it? I guess the cash strapped poor and homeless (who you no doubt want to cut off from their food stamps), are motivated to make ends meet by donating blood. These are also the drug-users looking for quick cash for their next fix. These are the HIV/Hep C carriers too. Sparing the expense of screening through a flimsy discriminatory policy is immoral at best.
