I was a fan of all the shows mentioned in this recent conversation.

Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, Odyssey 5, Firefly (I never watched it when it was originally showing, but I think I've seen every episode in reruns), "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" (I'm several episodes behind on this one, I usually Tivo shows and watch them later, it works fine unless I have a HD crash)

Just to expand a bit...

I almost didn't watch BSG when it first came on. I saw the original. While the pilot was not too bad, it went rapidly downhill. I found it totally unwatchable. Now, I understand all the reasons why the scripts were so rank, it was rushed as a series, some scripts were literally written the weekend before they were to start shooting, etc. But, still...

The less said about Galactica: 1980 the better.

So I wasn't just leaping with joy when I heard that they were going to remake it. Even if the history of remakes wasn't spotty at best. But, RDM did write some of the best DS9 episodes, so...

I was hooked with the opening scene. Not when wage-slave guy is pulling stuff out of his briefcase. Or when puts the picture of a kid who looked disturbingly like Boxey on his desk. I saw immediately that the budget was tight when I saw his papers, corners were being cut everywhere. But, when the new Centurions walked out and changed their guns into hands and stepped aside for the Six. That is when I got real interested. And I wasn't disappointed. Over the next few hours Six kills a baby, the colonies get nuked, Roslin becomes president and makes a decision that gets a cute little girl killed. It wasn't all good, Boxey indeed shows up and the little kid as a mascot to the pilots worked no better than in the original series. But, thank the gods, there were no daggits.

It just has been a wonderful series. Ok, there was "Woman King". And I long for the scene where Athena comes back early from patrol and catches Helo dressed up in her underwear. Or something. But, the Baltarians should be interesting. The Cylon civil war promises to be anything but. And just exactly how did Bob Dylan become popular on Caprica?

I can't wait.
