IMO its the other way around. Buckley was too much of a blue blood and tended to befriend liberals. Tended toward compromise much too often. Limbaugh is more of a fighter.

We needed Buckley to introduce the conservative ideas, and Rush to speak to all of us and unite us on the idea that we are not alone.
