"Correction to last statement---strike 'will' insert 'well-" Organizing campaigns were not the reasons that Guiliani and Romney withdrew from the Primary process. Guiliani's personal life was focused on by the media early in the primary campaigns turning his personal life into a negative. The media did the same with Romney as they focused on polygamy being a part of the Mormon faith when the Mormons settled in America-----some eroneously calling it a 'cult' such as has been used to criticize Obama's supporters. The media and commenters on the internet portrayed Romney's family background as negatively as possible-----despite his being married just once to one wife----being a Governor with numerous accomplishments in business. Given these early attacks----it was obvious that the handwriting was on the wall for these men as their party's nominee for President. Both were gentlemen, thought of their party and country first announcing their withdrawal early. Like Romney, Obama has been married once. He also comes from a background that reflects multiple wives amongst his ancestors as well as questions about religion. Obama can learn from these experiences of Guiliani and Romney---both Guiliani and Romney have walked through the media's and bloggers' criticisms on these family issues and religion. Regarding Obama's Campaign organizational ability---- Obama and his campaign staff have done a good job with the grassroots' organization----he has the formula for organizing grassroots down well with the help of modern technology such as cell phones and the internet. Reminds me very much of the organizing I have seen done by PIRG and also YAF-----believe PIRG was a brainstorm of Ralph Nader and YAF was a brainstorm of William F. Buckley who just died at 82, the distinguished editor and founder of National Review. As I noted in the beginning it wasn't organizational skills that were a problem for either Guiliani or Romney, it was the focus on family and religion that had nothing to do with their ability and experience that qualified them to be candidates for President.
