i just did that drive a couple of months ago on my way back from moab....there was snow on the mountains but quite driveable...the views are just indescribable....one of the view places in the country where you can see on a clear day 100 miles

it's simply amazing

I haven't been further SE than Moab/Grand Junction/I-40 yet so from Denver what is the most scenic route to Durango?
