That's ok with me.

It would be simpler if we were just all the same damn color. If wishing made it so, I'd wish for that.

My husband has long said (jokingly, of course) we should force everyone to intermarry for a generation or two and get rid of the issue once and for all.

But I suppose it would be like school uniforms. When our boys wore them, then the type of shoe they wore became the measuring stick for in and out. We always find ways to judge and separate and create Others.

My own personal theory that emanates from working with so many students is that the children that are a product of any inter religious, racial
or ethnic marriage usually possess superior intelligence as well as being talented. At least from my experience I found this to be 80% true...

This has come home to me again as my nephew married a Mexican girl. They have two children to date and one due in two weeks.

Both children, one a boy are usually intelligent. They have learned Spanish along with English and Lisceth can talk to them in either language and they understand.

The girl has started a school for gifted at 3 years of age.

Drew can amuse himself with intricate toys such as building
blocks...now plastic and all able to be locked in place. Or a toy train for hours.. He is very independent. Both children walked early and were potty trained on their own intiative.
Lindsey is 3 and Drew 2...

I will be baby sitting for them when Lisceth delivers and look forward to a wonderful time.. Oh, they are also so good looking... Drew has grey eyes and looks like his father and
Lindsey is dark and looks like her mother. Nice contrasts..
