Everybody is familiar with what Eisenhower said. Your interpretation is what is failing. You try so hard to make good people bad guys. I noticed it especially applies to US Military men/women, veterans or otherwise strong men who did heroic things. I believe you have an inadequacy that craves anything to belittle the image of those who you feel superior in every way to yourself.

It is a personal problem. Ask your wife.

Wonder what Ike would say about all the entitlements, which are more then defense in the budget ? You think he would say a welfare state can't have open borders? or that a welfare state can't work?
