Humor. :) It all started with a column on the Texas Homecoming Corsage. I wrote about it HERE ON SI in 96! And someone said I should send it to the paper. So I did and they called me and said, come in for a picture, we are putting it in the Sunday edition. AND THEY DID! RIGHT NEXT TO A COLUMN OF MOLLY IVINS! AND THEY PAID ME! After that, I just submitted stuff when I was inspired (mostly by things we talked about on SI- I owe SI such a debt of gratitude). I did that for a few years until the editor who liked me moved on. I wrote mostly on parenting. A couple of mildly political ones. I collected them all in a book for CW's graduation- Voices From the Back Seat- later renamed The Blue Penis and Other Stories. In fact, the Blue Penis story originated here........ oh my gosh. It's still there! Message 2287298
