People making up to seventy or 80 thousand are so poor they should get SCHIP...not much room left to be middle class...

Even less room than you think. As I mentioned up thread, I just got into Medicare. The Part B premium is "means tested." The premium on the premium kicks in at $84K. That leaves $4K for the middle class.
