Wow, who could ask for anything more from four years of college?

In my more radical incarnation, a group of us tried to float through the curriculum committee a proposal that one could not major in anything until after the sophomore year. And that included BS programs, engineering, business, whatever. And could take no more than one or two courses in any field (less students create their own narrow minded majors.)

Those first two years would be a general education program. With muscle. Faculty appointments; it's own dean; and control over its own curriculum.

Stirred up a hornets nest.

But that's what a start might be.
