I'm not arguing that the college graduates are well prepared in science and/or engineering. It's quite bad, in fact.

But so far as science is concerned, it's the fault of the science faculty. They simply don't take it seriously. Mostly because their incentive structures are wrong. Prestige and dollars comes from shuttling off larger and larger numbers to grad schools rather than preparing lawyers to know some science or future politicians or teachers or whatever.

As for engineers, the credentialing matter just became more than we could bridge.

Incidentally, if I might suggest, it doesn't qualify you as a good member of the conversational group here, if you say about someone you disagree with that they are simply uneducated. It's something of an insult. And particularly to say it to a third party.

Neolib is one of the smarter folk here. I'm always surprised just how much I learn reading his posts. You might wait a while. Or, heaven forbid. Apologize.

Heck - we have someone tonight saying we can cure GW in a few years - and that person claims to be an EE - say what?

Uh??

and at least the skills of the language.

I'd work on your reading comprehension. It appears lacking. I most certainly have not claimed anything remotely like what you implied I said above.

Look at how fast the computer revolution took place, and the internet revolution which closely followed each step of the computer revolution.

And you don't think something like that is at least possible with energy? I don't say it is, but it certainly could happen. Sometimes technology shifts with remarkable, even breathtaking, speed. Do you remember the amazing project to put a man on the moon in 10 years? We did that.
