Actually, you are still doing it, Bob. You just began with a fatalistic position, used some language to justify it, and called it realism. Science, real science, is not there. To the degree that the scientific community is addressing GW it's calling for action and offering tools with which to address it. And the engineering college at my school was heavily invested in a variety of entrepeneurial endeavors to build better this or that and to inculcate a concommitant mindset. We put together a series of residential colleges--first year students lived together in a section of a dorm and took one or two courses together. We were able to get dispensations for engineering students to take them. Many of them took the environmental college which emphasized GW issues. I don't find that surprising.
