John - some of the scientific community has certainly done that. In the process they have demonized opposing opinion - that should raise the alarm right there.

Bob, could you point me to a group of scientists who work on GW issues who have demonized their opponents. Papers, essays, op ed columns. There is vigorous disagreement. And if you've been around academics much, you know "vigorous" might be an understatement at times. But I've not seen anything from the GW scientific community, in general, that constitutes demonizing. I use the phrase "in general" because I'm aware there can always be one or two wackos in any community. But I certainly don't find it in their literature.

So a bit of help, please on that charge.

That is the primary reason I was for Fred Thompson - he would have had the guts to make an counter argument.

There might well be a politician or two who could make such an argument. But Fred Thompson is definitely not the one to do so. Intellectually and political lazy.

The right wing guy who has made it his cause is the Rep Oklahoma senator, Coburn. But if you are looking for someone who only demonizes and doesn't argue, well you will certainly find your guy there.
