There are MANY small colleges across the USA where you can get an excellent education, from very dedicated teachers, even if they never got the Nobel in anything. I'm very thankful that our country has so many dedicated individuals.

That is absolutely the case. I must confess to being unaware of it until I wound up at one of those. They are, with one or two exceptions, not the ivies.

I did a couple of undergrad degrees at a large state university, the University of Texas in Austin, before heading off to get a divinity school degree at Yale. Got a PhD at Northwestern and then taught at an ivie. None of that prepared me for the level of dedication to teaching one can find at small liberal arts colleges. Across the country. One of the several unspoken treasures around.
