"Apparently, it's not a high priority item to most people... "

I'm not sure about that.

In the surveys that hit me, the closest option I had was "health care."

Health care showed up pretty high as a concern in surveys.

I think the question should be surveyed directly.

Such as

"Assume everything about two candidates were exactly the same. Yet one was in favor of a doctor being able to prescribe marijuana for a seriously sick person and the other against. Which would you vote for? The candidate for or against?"

"Could such a stand change your vote?"

A similar set of questions could be asked about current federal raids on supplies of medical marijuana which are designed to deprive sick persons in CA of their, otherwise, lawful medicine.

Donuts gets you dollars that his lifestyle had more to do with it than the herbs. A few years back, I did the Adkins diet in a pretty serious way. Without all the sugar ingestion, my pulse rate dropped 10 beats a minute, lost 30 pounds in a very short order, the pain in my joints went away, my solid waste material looked like something that came out of a rabbit since I was actually making use of the food eaten.

If we all climbed mountains and swam a mile a day and ate in a sensible manner, then big drug companies could go fly a kite. That clearly is one of those deals that is easier to say than do....gotta love those chocolate covered peanut clusters.

consider the strong very vocal support of Ron Paul.

How much of this very activist support is because of his stance on marijuana?

No one knows.

There has been hints that RP supporters might swing over to Obama.

Obamas perceived stand on the issue might explain it.

Still .. nobody has taken the time to find out.

A political error?

The questions simply haven't been asked.
