I dunno, Laz, maybe.

I just think it stems from the old aristocratic model, a "ruling class" thinking they were born to rule, and a "serf class" expecting their landowner to take care of them in return for their subservience.

My theory gets reinforced regularly when I see how many people are obsessed with British Royalty. I mean, I could care less if the Royal Slut got killed in a car wreck or the Royal Gadfly spends a couple months in Afghanistan. I see the same sort of obsession with some who many seem to want to confer royalty upon, like the Kennedies, Algore, and now, BO.

That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. <G>
