One of the lessons I learned from my grandfather was that I must be able to speak to Presidents and laborers with equal respect, acknowledging their equal dignity under all circumstances. Everyone is of course different, but the way we see and treat all people should not be different in the important aspects no matter their station in life or, more important, how utterly different [rural vs. sophisticate, poor vs. rich, etc.] they may be from us. I saw my grandfather's lesson in your post, and have been mystified by the response.

I said it was amusing. Amusing that people categorized and ridiculed the butts of the very people who probably voted the exact same way that you did. So on that point I agree with you: what does that say about your crowd? LOL. BTW, this is the Liberal Fiction thread. Liberal hypocrisy from other threads, especially closed ones, is topical here. So no need to be weirded out over it.

I see that jlallen & Bill have already done an excellent job responding to you. Bottom line; like most far left threads on SI, the "View" thread is essentially a closed thread populated by folks with POV's that are far to the left of the average American. Most conservatives who dare express their POV's within established thread rules are ignored, shouted down &/or silenced. And often it's done by LWE's who repeatedly violate them with impunity. IMO, that makes the "View" worse than most LWE threads because folks at the "View" are so delusional that most of them actually believe they are "centrists". They actually believe they are tolerant, inclusive & embrace all forms of diversity. They actually believe they have genuine mainstream values. And they believe the MSM reports all "newz" fairly & acurately with left wing bias, yet they call conservative media (which openly acknowledges they report from that POV), "hate talk", "hate jocks" "red meat base", "extreme", "demonizing" & more. Meanwhile they are utterly blind to all of that & more. This thread has done an excellent job documenting the rank hypocrisy on that thread, how thoroughly out of touch with reality most folks who post there are. It resembles a left wing, groupthink echo chamber far more than a view from the center, that's for damn sure. And that includes the moderator, Comrade Baker who is likely the most hypocritical & most out of touch with reality of anyone at the "View". << "I just think it's incredibly weird how obsessed everyone here is by Dale and Center" :>>
