Thank you so very much, C2. I really am grateful to you for taking the time to say that. It bothered me a lot that I came across as looking down. I was raised in Rockbridge County, Va. in the Shenandoah Valley in a very small town (104 in my high school class), was a member of 4H, rode horses and went squaredancing. I have very rural roots, and maybe that's why it didn't feel negative to write as I did. I was identifying way more than I communicated. Poor writing. Oh well. Your grandfather sounds like a wonderful man.
