A lot of the Saudi oil is heavy and can be substituted for Ven. oil. S.A. has trouble selling the heavy stuff, because the light is what most refineries are set up to run.

It's not the energy source so much, it's the extra hydrogen atoms from the natural gas. Heavy oil has lots of carbons, not enough hydrogens.

Thanks for the information about the Saudi oil replacing the Venezuelan crude.
