McCain's judgment gets very screwy sometimes; his ethical limits on what he will do for political gain can be pretty flexible.

What makes it even worse is that McCain isn't in a close race in which he desperately needs every vote in Texas to get the nomination- which wouldn't excuse it, but make it a tad more understandable.

I assume Hagee is one of the few prominent social conservatives who will endorse him. And he does need that constituency. Badly. It's just that it's support comes with thorns. Ouch.
